We’re working hard on delivering a revamped version of Columns in time for New Year and it looks as though it’s going to make it spot on.
- Although there were some proposals on adding new colour block at around level 40, we decided it would be too big of a change. We have, however increased (just a tiny bit) the speed increment on each new level to make it less of an endurance challenge.
- Player name is entered from the main menu, rather than after finished game. We’ve realised that having the player enter the name again and again may be inconvenient! (took us two years, too).
This way we’ll avoid duplicate entries due to typos. - Blank name will block score submission. Majority of scores in 2015-2016, eight times as many as the next most popular player, were blank names.
- Score submission is confirmed. If server fails to respond or there is connectivity issue, you’ll be allowed to resubmit. Just don’t close the screen with the button!
- We’ve removed annoying ads. If you appreciate our work, you’ll find a way to make us feel special 🙂
The old version will be available here, if anyone feels nostalgic. It will also feed into the archived 2015 – 2016 leaderboard, which we promise to keep available for as long as we can.
